NEWS FLASH! Shirley Bass has announced her retirement from Solomon software consulting effective July 12, 2000. Her clients will be serviced by Simon Master & Sidlow after that date. I have now decided to discontinue providing those consulting and VAR services and have sold my business to Simon, Master & Sidlow. One of my main concerns in retiring from the Solomon consulting business was to make sure that my clients had a continuing relationship with a high quality consulting resource that would be able to answer their questions and provide the same high level of personal service to them that I had as Bass & Company. It was most fortunate that at the same time I was making my decision to retire, Simon, Master & Sidlow (SMS) decided to open a Washington, DC office to service their existing client base in this vicinity. SMS is one of the larger Solomon VARs. They are headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware with offices in Philadelphia, PA and Alexandria, VA. They have a large staff of CPAs and technical personnel who are fully trained and certified in the Solomon software and related operating systems. As a CPA myself, it was most important to me that my clients have access to the professional knowledge of CPAs. Their commitment to providing Solomon certification training to their staff and requiring their staff to pass the Solomon certification tests also demonstrates their commitment to providing the highest level of technical expertise to you. In addition, they are VARs for the Great Plains software. As you are most likely aware, Great Plains recently purchased Solomon Software. By being affiliated with both software companies, SMS is well positioned to assist you with any changes that might come about as a result of this acquisition.
